Review: The Rosie Project!

Title: The Rosie Project
Author: Graeme Simsion
Series: Don Tillman #1
Release date: October 2013
Pages: 295

Synopsis from Goodreads:

An international sensation, this hilarious, feel-good novel is narrated by an oddly charming and socially challenged genetics professor on an unusual quest: to find out if he is capable of true love.

Don Tillman, professor of genetics, has never been on a second date. He is a man who can count all his friends on the fingers of one hand, whose lifelong difficulty with social rituals has convinced him that he is simply not wired for romance. So when an acquaintance informs him that he would make a “wonderful” husband, his first reaction is shock. Yet he must concede to the statistical probability that there is someone for everyone, and he embarks upon The Wife Project. In the orderly, evidence-based manner with which he approaches all things, Don sets out to find the perfect partner. She will be punctual and logical—most definitely not a barmaid, a smoker, a drinker, or a late-arriver.

Yet Rosie Jarman is all these things. She is also beguiling, fiery, intelligent—and on a quest of her own. She is looking for her biological father, a search that a certain DNA expert might be able to help her with. Don's Wife Project takes a back burner to the Father Project and an unlikely relationship blooms, forcing the scientifically minded geneticist to confront the spontaneous whirlwind that is Rosie—and the realization that love is not always what looks good on paper.

Expectations

I've heard so many good things about this book. I'm very excited to start reading it!

Review

What an amazing read!
I enjoyed reading every single page of this book. If I had the time, I would have read it in one sitting.

In a way this book reminds me of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon. Obviously because the resemblance is that the main character has Autism. Both books are very interesting to read.

It was so interesting to read the thoughts of Don, the main character, and just follow him with his day to day routine. So interesting to experience someones thoughts who thinks so differently.

There were so many moments which made me laugh out loud(which is always a great). Don is so funny without knowing it.

I really liked the other characters in this book as well. Rosie was just amazing, I really liked her character. It was very nice to see the connection between Don and Rosie grow and change.

The writing was amazing! Like I said, I loved reading every page and just flew through the book. It is a beautiful story about self-reflection and self-development and trying to grow as a person.

It was a super addictive read and I can't wait to read the sequel, the Rosie Effect!

Rating

I will recommend this to everyone, really, you should read it!
